I have heard people say how it’s a jungle out there. I never thought it would apply to our front yard. We had really let the trees go too long before pruning them. If it wasn’t fixing the car or getting braces for one of the kids, it was something else. We kept putting it off, and now we had branches falling all the time. Not big ones, but a lot of little ones. Our trees needed pruned back so their canopies did not touch. I called a tree service in Nassau County to come out and do the job. I did not want any algae growing on the porch roof because of it being in shade under the trees every day, and I did not want the squirrels to use the branches close to the gutter as a highway to the porch roof. When I saw one up there, I knew it was time to scale back the trees in our front yard.Read More
I’ve been enjoying getting caught-up with old friends and family, and also staying in-touch with friends BUT I have realized it’s still important to have healthy boundaries! We could literally be on a zoom call every day if we wanted to! Not to mention all of the amazing trainings happening too!
It helps to first get clear on what your values and priorities are. What is important to you? What do you value in your life and business? Some examples are; freedom, family, spirituality, etc.
We want to make sure our decisions around how we spend our time and what we allow into our lives is in alignment with what we value and enjoy, even if we have extra family responsibilities right now.
And we don’t have to wait until someday when we receive / achieve _______.
Once you’re clear on what is important tot you, look at what you can add (or take away) to your life now that will invoke those feelings. It’s about living from those feelings we want more of now, so that we can attract more into our lives that continue to invoke those feelings!
It starts with us.
From there, we want to make sure our decisions and what we put in our calendars is in alignment with those values.
A great way to decide is to ask – is this in alignment with my values? If it’s not an absolute yes, it’s a no.
Another great way to check-in that’s effective – is this in alignment with my bigger dream of ____?
Again, if it’s not a heck yes, it’s a no. This is an easy way to eliminate trainings we don’t really need right now and also feeling okay about saying no to virtual happenings we don’t really want to do.
It’s okay to say no.
Even if people know you’re at home!
You still get to decide how you want to spend your time and with whom.
I’ve found myself busier than ever with starting new projects and manifesting new opportunities. My heart is so content doing these things. That leaves time mostly for my family and some time for myself.
Of course, I still love connecting with extended family and friends, and I am also doing that in a way that feels doable and fun.
I heard someone’s motto once: if it’s not fun don’t do it!
I love that. Well I guess you can tell fun is one of my core values;-)
Decide what they are for you and create an empowered covid schedule that works and feels good for you.
And dance workouts are 100% in my schedule!!
The human world has just gone almost upside down. The recent pandemic has grabbed the everyday life of humans’ by the throat, and this happened all of a sudden. Fear has emerged from the darkness and has proliferated within the entire globe very swiftly, and this has paralyzed the routine works of humans. The Novel Corona Virus has brought in very many novel ways along with it, which were unknown to humans hitherto, rather neglected by them.
Now, many say that from now onwards, there will be a pre and post Novel Corona Virus era.
But, will humans become novel because of Novel Corona Virus? If we learn the essence of this painful pandemic, then we will see the emergence of a welcoming world on the other side of this heartbreak! On the other hand, if the lesson remains unread, then for sure, it will breed enmity between nations, which will take the world to novel confrontations.
Let’s hope for the best to happen. Let us have a bit of optimism and look forward to a better human society where there are no religious, caste, or racial discriminations.
Living With Novel Corona Virus or Covid 19 – Precautions
- Be hygienic always, anywhere, and at all costs. Maintaining personal hygiene is imperative.
- Whenever you move out, wear a face mask; for common use, a two-layered cloth mask is better. You can reuse the same after washing. You can also make it at home.
- While wearing and removing masks, you must take double care; you must not touch the middle portion by hand; always, hold the string for wearing and removing.
- Don’t place your mask carelessly here or there, after use. Always take it to your bathroom if washable and wash it with soap or detergent immediately. If it is a ‘one-time’ use mask, you must wash it in the same manner and put it in a plastic bag and then to the garbage bag. You can also cut the same into one or two pieces, as this will prevent somebody using the same again. After removing the mask, you must wash your hands.
- Remember, when you are out of your home, you won’t know whether the person near you is a Novel Corona Virus carrier. This practically means that your entire body is unhygienic and hence, never allow your hands to touch vulnerable parts of your body such as nose, eyes, and mouth.
- Always take a small bottle of hand sanitizer with you; this will be of great help to you when you are on the move.
- Forget about the handshake greeting; don’t greet by a handshake; instead, you can just fold your hands and nod your head. This is the best form of greeting.
- Sanitize your hands more often; when you are at home, you can use soap.
- It’s always good to take warm foods and drinks.
- Maintain individual distance; at least three feet away from another person.
- It’s sensible to stay away from crowded places, in any case, for these initial periods.
- Clean your hands and feet when you reach your home or workplace.
- When you reach your home, you must enter inside only after washing your feet. Straight away, you must have your bath.
- Take protein-rich food, which will make your resistance-level up and will enhance the overall immunity power.
- Do physical exercises regularly, which will help our body metabolism.
- Get in touch with a practicing physician if you feel something wrong with your body. Never attempt to do self medication.
Finally, we must learn the lesson taught by this Novel Corona Virus that human life is so fragile, and it can collapse even by a minute virus, which is not visible by the human naked-eye. Hence, we must throw away the hatred that we were carrying hitherto and must love one another. Let us become Novel Human Beings.
In the wake of Covid-19 pandemic, the people have been taking the required precautions like the use of mask, social distancing, minimal personal interactions, etc. Despite the observance of these measures, it is quite important that one should possess good immunity to fight the new Corona virus infection and other illnesses.
The immune system is essential for our survival. Without it our bodies would be open to attack from bacteria, viruses, parasites, and more. It keeps us healthy as we come across a large number of pathogens.
It is spread throughout the body and involves many types of cells, organs, proteins, and tissues. It has special ability to distinguish our tissue from foreign tissue. Dead and faulty cells are also recognized and cleared away by it.
If it encounters a pathogen, a bacterium, virus, or parasite, it mounts a so-called immune response. An immune response is a reaction which occurs in our body for the purpose of defending against foreign invaders. A toxin or other foreign substance, which induces an immune response in the body thereby producing antibodies, is called antigen.
Central to its ability to mobilize a response to an invading pathogen, toxin or allergen is its ability to distinguish self from non-self. The host uses both innate and adaptive mechanisms to detect and eliminate pathogenic microbes.
Innate immunity is the defense system with which we are born. Innate immunity involves barriers that keep harmful materials from entering our body. These barriers form the first line of defense in the immune response.
If pathogens successfully evade the innate response, we possess a second layer of protection, the adaptive immune system, which is activated by the innate response. It adapts its response during an infection to improve its recognition of the pathogen. This response is retained after the pathogen has been eliminated in the form of an immunological memory, which allows the adaptive immune system to mount faster and stronger attacks each time this pathogen is encountered.
Tips to enhance immunity –
The following are important tips that will help us to enhance our immunity:
Have an adequate sleep –
Sleep and immunity are closely linked. During sleep, the immune system releases proteins called cytokines. Certain cytokines need to increase when we have an infection or inflammation, or when we are under stress. Sleep deprivation may decrease production of these protective cytokines. In addition, infection-fighting antibodies and cells are reduced during periods when we don’t get enough sleep.
It is normally recommended that adults should aim to get 7 or more hours of sleep each night, whereas teens need 8-10 hours and younger children and infants up to 14 hours.
Eat more whole plant foods –
Whole plant foods like fruits, vegetables, nuts, seeds, and legumes are rich in nutrients and antioxidants that may give you an upper hand against harmful pathogens by boosting immunity. By eating all different colors of plant-based foods, we are more likely to get a strong and varied nutritional profile. In fact, whole foods, plant-based diet contains 64-times the amount of immunity-boosting antioxidants compared to a diet that includes meat and dairy.
Eat healthy oil –
Healthy fats like olive oil, peanut oil, canola oil and foods rich in omega-3s are highly anti-inflammatory. Since chronic inflammation can suppress our immune system, these fats may naturally combat illnesses. A low-level inflammation is a normal response to stress or injury.
Reduce stress –
The stress suppresses it, increasing susceptibility to colds and other illnesses. It is difficult to define stress. Most scientists studying the relationship of stress and immune function, however, do not study a sudden, short-lived stressor; rather, they try to study more constant and frequent stressors known as chronic stress.
Do regular exercise –
The regular exercise is one of the pillars of healthy living. Just like a healthy diet, exercise can contribute to a healthy immune system. It may contribute by promoting good circulation, which allows its cells and substances to move through the body freely and do their job efficiently.
Stop smoking –
Smoking can suppress it because nicotine can lead to decreased neutrophilic phagocytic activity. It can also inhibit the release of reactive oxygen species (ROS) thus impairing the ability of neutrophils to kill pathogens. Within the lungs, smoking triggers a release of inflammatory agents that lead to persistent chronic inflammatory syndrome.
Meditate daily –
It has been found that the benefit we experience from meditation isn’t strictly psychological; there is a clear and quantifiable change in how our bodies function. Meditation is one of the restorative activities that may provide relief for our immune systems, easing the day-to-day stress of the body.
Limit added sugar –
When we eat a big dose of sugar, we temporarily damp down our immune system’s ability to respond to challenges. The effect lasts for several hours. So if you eat sweets several times a day, it may be perpetually operating at a distinct disadvantage. Further eating sugary foods can produce excessive inflammation that serves no useful purpose but promotes aging and disease.
The bottom line –
Our immune system is essential for our survival. Our lifestyle can affect how well it can protect us from germs, viruses, and chronic illnesses. Replacing bad health habits with good ones can help keep it healthy. The above tips if followed adequately can go a long way toward strengthening our immunity.
We are surrounded by blue light no matter where we go. This is the light that gives the blue color to the sky. The same light is emitted by the screens of the mobile phones and tablets when your kid plays his favorite games. Now, the question is, does this light cause harm to the eyes of your kids? Should you buy blue light glasses for your kids? We are going to answer these questions in this article. Read on to know more.
If you worry about the health of your kids, we suggest that you don’t allow them to use their smartphones all day. Instead, you should help them follow the popular 20/20 rule. This rule is quite simple and beneficial. Just ask your kids to look 20 feet away from the screen for at least 20 seconds after they have spent 10 minutes starring at their phone or tablet screens.
Another alternative is to buy protective glasses. They offer a great degree of protection. Plus, they don’t cost a lot of money.
In case you don’t know, blue light is a visible light that features shorter wavelengths and a high level of energy unlike other wavelengths. Given below are some common sources of this wavelength:
- Smartphones, tablets and computer screens
- TV screens
- LED lights
- Fluorescent lights
Although we don’t have strong evidence to suggest that this wavelength can cause damage to your kids’ eyes, we can’t take risk as there could be long-term side effects.
How do the Glasses offer Protection for their Eyes?
Spending a few minutes in the sun is healthy for your kids. As a matter of fact, a little bit of regular exposure to the sun can help your kids reduce their risk for developing myopia.
Although some sun is good for human eyes and body, excessive exposure may cause retina damage over the long haul. According to research studies, kids are at a higher risk of retina damage due to constant exposure to blue light.
Moreover, prolonged exposure to this wavelength for years after years can cause visions problems after the age of 30. For instance, the exposure to UV light is associated with age-related macular degeneration. This condition may result in vision loss.
Screen Time for Children
Kids are more exposed to blue light when they are outside. However, if your kids spend most of their time looking at computer screens, they may suffer from digital eyestrain, aka computer vision syndrome. Given below are some common symptoms of this condition in kids:
- Poor posture
- Eye tiredness
- Dry eyes
- Vision changes
Aside from these, there are other risks of prolonged exposure to this type of light. Therefore, we suggest that you take proper measures to save the eyesight of your kids.
If you are worried about your kids’ eyesight, we suggest that you buy them a good pair of blue light sunglasses. This is the only easiest way to ensure the safety of your kids’ health.
Thermometer is a type of instrument that you can use to measure your body temperature. You may have seen this device in hospitals where nurses and doctors use them for measuring patients’ body temperatures. Apart from this, they are also used to measure food, water and air temperatures. Mercury or clinical thermometers are specifically designed in order to measure human body temperatures. Read on to know more.
In this article, we are going to focus on three types of thermometers: mercury, digital and infrared. We will go into details of each type of units to help you know more about them. This will make it easier for you to choose a unit that can meet your temperature measurement needs. Just make sure you know what you need.
First of all, you should shake the unit, which will move the mercury inside the tube. Next, you should place the marked part of the device under your tongue for around two minutes. Don’t open your mouth during this time or the reading may be inaccurate.
Another way is to place the meter in your armpit. For this method, you need to wait a little longer, which should be at least 3 minutes.
This device has a heat sensor known as thermistor. What sets it apart from the mercury type is that it offers more versatility. Plus, it can give you an accurate reading in less than a minute.
This unit is more complex compared to the traditional type. These devices feature a semiconductor element for measuring temperature. The microprocessor inside these thermometers can give a reading in less than 30 seconds. This unit gets the required power from a small battery. The internal microprocessor shuts off when kept on for an extended period of time.
These units use infrared light in order to measure temperature. You don’t need to touch your body with this device to get a reading. A major drawback of the meter is that they can only measure the temperature on the surface of something. The advantage is that they can instantly give an accurate reading.
- Allows quick detection of body/surface temperature
- Allows quick display of the results on the LCD screen
- The response of the device is quite quick
- Can be used to measure temperatures between 89.6F and 108.5F
- Can help measure the surface temperature without touching the surface
- The alarms can be adjusted to notify when the temperatures goes beyond the programmed limit
- The optimum distance that the unit can measure the temperatures between is 1.9 and 5.9 inches
- The unit is sturdy enough to withstand falls
- There is no need to get replacement supplies
- Prevents the spread of infection from one person to another
So, this was a description of different types of thermometers. Based on the advantages and disadvantages of each device, you can easily make a choice. Each unit has its set of pros and cons. The selection depends upon your needs and preferences.
People have a difference of opinion about vaping. In this article, we are going to talk about the health benefits of vaping. This will help you get a much better understanding of whether you should try this approach or look for an alternative. Without further ado, let’s check out some salient and benefits of this approach.
Benefits of Vaping
According to the Royal College of Physicians, vaping is 95% safer than regular cigarettes. Since vaping does not involve any combustion, you are not exposed to dangerous smoke. Therefore, you can experience a better sense of taste and smell, better lung capacity, circulation, skin health, and oral hygiene.
2. No Obnoxious Odors
Another great advantage of these products is that they don’t emit obnoxious odors. The good thing is that these pens produce a sweet aroma based on the flavor you choose. There is no smoke of tobacco. As a matter of fact, some users can barely notice the smell of vapor. Even if you choose tobacco flavor, the smell will be quite different.
3. Better Control
Vaping pens allow you to have much better control over the intake of nicotine. You can choose from a variety of strengths on the basis of your taste. You can also go for a nicotine-free option. Most of these units start with a high level of nicotine and then reduce the amount of it gradually. However, you can make necessary adjustments based on your convenience. Make sure that you increase the amount of nicotine gradually instead of starting with a high amount of it.
4. Adjustable Vapor Output
Another great advantage of these units is that you can adjust the amount of vapor you can inhale. Small units are designed for a lower amount of vapor and a higher degree of convenience. On the other hand, high powered units are a great choice for cloud chasing.
5. Flavor Collection
As far as flavors are concerned, you have a lot of options to choose from. Moreover, the manufacturers come up with new flavors with the passage of time. Therefore, you can always try out new flavors. Some good ones include tobacoo, menthol, foods, beverage, desserts, and fruit, just to name a few. Therefore, you won’t get bored even if you use your vaping pens on a regular basis. Different companies offer different flavors. So, these collections will all always keep you engaged.
6. Instant Satisfaction
Vaping pens offer a great degree of convenience, which is why they can satisfy your cravings. High-end units require a little bit of initial tinkering but most of them come prefilled and can be used right away. Once the vape is all set, you just need to push the button to take a hit. Therefore, instant satisfaction is another great advantage that you can enjoy if you go for these units instead of regular cigarettes.
Many known health issues arise from drinking too much. Alcohol is a neurotoxin and a mild-poison to the body. A common health problem associated with excessive or over-drinking is Cirrhosis of the liver. In fact, there has been a 65% increase in Cirrhosis deaths due to alcohol consumption in the U.S. (cite: 1).
Some common health issues with long-term excessive alcohol use include; high blood pressure, heart disease, stroke, and cancer. The risk to specific types of cancers is well-documented, these cancers include; breast, mouth, throat, liver, and colon cancer. When it comes to your brain, alcohol can do a number on you causing memory problems, dementia, and early-onset Alzheimer’s. The common psychological problems are depression and anxiety (cite 2).
You have an extremely high risk of becoming dependent on alcohol to function normally. Once addicted to alcohol you will be subjected to a whole host of other challenging health issues, none of which is fun to think about. If you are already there, it’s probably time to get some help as soon as possible. Over 88,000 alcohol-related deaths occur each year in the United States (cite: 3).
Unconvinced You Have a Drinking Problem?
There is an easy way to prove to yourself that you don’t have a drinking problem. Simply take 2-months off from your drinking and don’t drink any alcoholic beverages during that time. If you have no withdrawal symptoms or any pressing urge to have a drink, then you win. If you just can’t do it, don’t be surprised, most people who have alcohol use disorder don’t realize it either.
Do you have a family member who is in denial, yet you can readily see all the signs pointing toward alcoholism? Have you realized that you can’t help them and they won’t help themselves? How about you? Where are you with your alcohol consumption? Need help? It is okay to ask for help before it gets any worse. The damage to your health will only progress if you keep drinking.

MYTH 1: SPOT REDUCTION WORKS
It is widely believed that if you focus your exercise and weight training on specific areas of your body that you will be able to reduce the amount of fat in that specific area or region. In reality, there is no such thing as spot reduction, and instead, as you begin to work out and exercise you will start to lose weight evenly throughout your entire body. Just the same, another common myth is that a high number of repetitions will burn more fat when in truth, fewer repetitions with heavier weight will actually cause you to burn more fat in a shorter amount of time than a higher number of reps with a lighter weight.
MYTH 2: DRINKING COLD BEVERAGES REDUCES FAT
This is a very common myth that actually is believable if you consider the reasoning behind it. The myth goes on to indicate that because your body needs to heat up the water, it automatically begins to burn calories whenever you drink cold water. This calorie-burning frenzy continues until your body has adjusted the water temperature to be that of your regular body’s warmth. While drinking water (at any temperature) is an important part of any weight loss system, don’t count on losing weight just from drinking alone. Water helps flush out your system keeping you healthy and free of toxins, but you cannot burn calories just by drinking it without a healthy diet.
MYTH 3: ELIMINATING FOOD GROUPS WILL CAUSE FAT LOSS
This myth is a bit confusing, so let’s set the record straight. Eliminating (or at least minimizing) certain foods such as foods that are high in sugars) should be part of your transition into healthy eating. You always want to minimize the number of high fat (low energy) foods whenever possible. However, eliminating complete food groups from your diet and focusing on eating only one kind of food is not only very difficult to stick with, but in order to maintain a healthy diet, you need a well-rounded selection of wholesome foods from all of the food groups.
MYTH 4: LOW-CALORIE DIETS ARE THE ONLY WAY TO LOSE WEIGHT
Nearly every diet out there focuses on lowering your calorie intake and increasing your overall level of activity, and rightly so. The problem comes when dieters believe that by dramatically reducing their calorie intake they will shed the weight and keep it off. It’s important to gradually reduce your calorie intake so that your body’s natural system doesn’t shift into ‘starvation’ mode, which triggers your system into believing that you need to store food for a possible period of famine (this has been part of our system since the beginning of man). You also need to watch out for a disruption in your body’s natural metabolic pace, as dramatic reductions in calories can slow it down making it harder to shed those pounds.
MYTH 5: YOU MUST WORK OUT AT SPECIFIC TIMES
I’ve seen this myth circulate the weight loss communities many times over the years and while the “best time of day” always seems to change, the basic idea remains the same: You need to work out at specific times for maximum results. In reality, you really don’t have to work out early in the morning, late at night, or anything in between as long as you are actually exercising. Focus more on maintaining a consistent schedule of activity and less on when you actually get it done. For busy moms to business owners, being able to set a specific schedule isn’t always the easiest thing to achieve, so it’s great news that the real facts are that regardless of when you actually exercise, your body will burn the same amount of calories for the same workout regardless of the time of day.
MYTH 6: YOU MUST WORK OUT FOR XX MINUTES BEFORE IT BEGINS TO WORK
I used to believe this myth myself. The idea behind it is that your body must “warm-up” for a period of time before it shifts into “fat-burning mode”, and so anything before xx minutes simply doesn’t count. This is complete nonsense! While you should always work towards incorporating a warm-up period (as well as a slow down process) during your workouts, you actually start burning fat from the moment you begin!
MYTH 7: EAT FAT BURNING FOODS TO LOSE WEIGHT
If you ever truly find a food group or item that will cause instant weight loss, please, let me know! Realistically, there are no foods that instantly burn fat, however, there are food types that can increase your metabolism (which will subsequently, help you lose weight).
MYTH 8: HIGH PROTEIN/LOW CARB DIETS ARE BEST
These diets are typically difficult to stick with because they are very limiting in what you are allowed to eat. Furthermore, the reality of the matter is that while you may lose weight quickly at first, your body will plateau and you will find it difficult to get past the “hump”. Instead, focus on following a healthy eating plan that encompasses foods from the four food groups, ensuring that you not only are given added flexibility in your meal options but that you are receiving the minerals and vitamins that your body requires.
MYTH 9: EAT LESS AND BURN MORE
Did you know that there is such a thing as a “Sumo Diet”? It’s thought that Sumo wrestlers eat just before retiring for the day, and rarely eat throughout the day itself as a way of packing on pounds. The reason for this isn’t because eating after 7 pm actually causes major weight gain (the number of calories you have stored at the end of the day will still be transformed into fat regardless of when you ate), but instead, they do this because when you eat less your body ends up storing more fat, while decreasing your metabolism rate. It’s important to eat regularly throughout the day, preferably 6-8 times (three meals and healthy snacks every two hours will keep you satisfied and trigger your body to stay in constant fat-burning mode).
MYTH 10: ELIMINATE ALL FAT FROM YOUR DIET
This myth is not only extremely difficult to do, but it actually can harm your system. We all need fat in our diets to survive and to feed our muscles and encourage growth.
Since there are tons of plastic bottles available in the market, the huge variety makes it much more difficult to buy the best one according to your need. They come in different sizes and shapes, with each having its own set of unique features. If you want to know about all the different things that need to be considered in order to make the best choice, read on.
What are Plastic Bottles?
A plastic container is a jar built from high-density or low-density plastic. Plastic containers are regularly used to store fluids, such as water, sodas, engine oil, cooking oil, medication, cleanser, milk, and ink.
The size of these units varies from extremely little containers to huge carboys. These containers may have handles molded or are shaped to facilitate grip. The greatest advantage of plastic jars over glass containers is that they offer protection from breakage during the manufacturing process and transportation.
How are they made?
Plastic container manufacturing happens in multiples stages. Commonly, the plastic jugs used to hold consumable water and different beverages are produced using polyethylene terephthalate (PET) since the material is both solid and light.
Polyethylene (PE) features high-thickness, which is why it is utilized for making unbending plastic containers, such as cleanser bottles and squeezing bottles. Polypropylene (PP) is utilized for pill bottles and so forth.
Polycarbonate (PC) is utilized for refillable water bottles and similar reusable containers. To understand the manufacturing procedure, it is useful to initially understand the compositions of PET, PE, PP, and PC and how these materials affect the making of plastic bottles.
The main phase of a regular 2-stage Reheat and Blow Machine (RBM) bottle producing process is known as injection shaping. Plastic pellets are plasticized in the barrel of an injection forming machine where the plastic is softened by heat. The plastic is then infused into multiple cavity molds where it assumes the shape of long, thin tubes.
When the bottle (or, in consistent manufacturing, bottles) has cooled down and got into a certain shape, it is removed from the mold. The plastic bottles are then prepared for transportation or filling.
Types of Plastic Materials Used
Before you go ahead and make a choice, we suggest that you consider types of materials used for the making of plastic bottles. Given below are some of the common materials that manufacturers use for this purpose.
PET (Polyethylene Terephthalate)
Polyethylene Terephthalate is a thermoplastic polymer that can be either opaque or transparent depending upon the material composition. Likewise, with most plastics, PET is created from petroleum hydrocarbons. To produce plastic jars, the PET is first polymerized to make long molecular chains.
When the plastic itself has been made, the bottle manufacturing procedure can start. To guarantee that the PET is appropriate for use, various tests are done post-manufacturing to ensure that the containers are impermeable via carbon dioxide.
Apart from this, different variables like transparency, shine, shatter resistance, thickness, and pressure resistance, are also monitored.
Low- and High-Density Polyethylene
Another thermoplastic, polyethylene is utilized for assembling blow-molded milk and water containers, cleanser bottles, ketchup bottles, and so on. Both LDPE and HDPE can be thermoformed, blow-formed, infusion shaped, and so forth. HDPE is utilized for some types of plastic jars, given that it has higher rigidity.
Polypropylene is a typically opaque, low-density polymer with excellent thermoforming. For bottles, it competes very well against polyethylene and can be made see-through for transparent applications. Polypropylene cannot match the optical clarity of polymers, for example, polycarbonate. However, it does a great job.
It is an expensive material compared with other jug making polymers. So, the application of this material is restricted to very good quality reusable jugs, such as nursing bottles or those found on water coolers or in lab settings.
The material has great optical properties and quality, which makes it appropriate for bottles that must show their substance with the transparency of glass but should have the ability to cope with routine mishandling.
Important Things to Look Out For when buying plastic bottles
While choosing plastic jars, there are a couple of areas you have to focus on. This is particularly significant for bottles to be used for storing edible things. You need to guarantee your bottles are tough and safe for your items.
Here are some significant tips for choosing the best bottle according to your need.
BPA free: Bisphenol A, or BPA, is an industrial chemical used to make plastic items. This chemical has been utilized since the 1960s However, recent research has indicated that the substance can leach into food and fluids contained in affected plastics.
Clean Thoroughly: Make sure to check with the seller that the containers and jars are properly sterilized, as the bottles go through different processes and places before ending up with up you.
Personal Inspection: Before purchasing, make sure that the plastic bottle doesn’t have areas of mold marks or any other physical issues.
Container Sizes: Plastic jars come in a variety of sizes ranging from as small as 30ml to mid-range sizes of 500ml and 1000ml. So, make sure that you get the correct size according to what is to be stored in them. For instance, storing 1 glass juice in a 1000ml container might not work the best. So, it may be recommended to get a 300ml container.
Types of Lids: Plastic bottles and jars come with a variety of lids. Mainly of these include flip tops, twist caps and spray caps. Other containers might also be squeezable. All these lids are for different products to be stored in them. For example, a dense liquid might be best stored in a squeezable container as it will be easier to handle.
So, you’re prepared to purchase a plastic bottle but choosing the correct bottle shape and size can feel overwhelming. There is a great deal of factors to consider and not all containers are suitable for what you need them for. Therefore, we suggest that you consider this guide before placing your order.
